YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy

A plain-English outline of how LGBTG intends to handle personal information.

Draft for launch preparation: this policy must be updated with the actual hosting provider, form/email services, analytics and contact details once those are chosen.

Our approach

LGBTG aims to collect as little personal information as reasonably necessary. We will not ask you to share sensitive information simply to browse the website.

Information you choose to send

If you use a future contact or prayer form, information may include your name, email address and the message or prayer request you choose to submit. Optional fields should remain optional.

Prayer requests

Prayer requests can contain very personal information. They should be treated respectfully, accessed only by people who genuinely need access, and not published as testimonies or shared publicly without clear permission.

Website technical information

Like most websites, the eventual hosting service may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP addresses, browser information and security logs. This section will be updated when hosting and analytics choices are final.

Cookies and analytics

LGBTG will avoid unnecessary tracking. If analytics, embedded media or other services that set non-essential cookies are introduced, the website will explain them and add consent controls where required.

How long information is kept

Personal information should not be kept indefinitely without a reason. Final retention periods will be documented before live form submissions are enabled.

Your choices

Visitors will be given a way to contact LGBTG about personal information they have submitted, including appropriate requests to access, correct or delete it.

Children and young people

The website may be read by people of different ages, but forms should not encourage children to disclose private or sensitive information. Safeguarding concerns will be handled according to the safeguarding guidance on this site.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change as the website develops. The live version will show an effective or last-updated date.

About LGBTG

Story submissions

If you use the “Share your story” form, the information you submit is sent through Netlify Forms and stored in Netlify’s form-submission system so it can be reviewed by LGBTG. This may include your name or nickname, email address, story title, testimony text, and the permissions you select.

Stories are not published automatically. Submissions may be edited for clarity, privacy, safeguarding, or legal reasons before publication, or may not be published at all.

Please do not submit information you are not comfortable sharing for review, and avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information about yourself or other people.

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
