The Bible
We believe the Holy Scriptures are inspired by God and are our authoritative foundation for Christian faith and life. Scripture points us to Christ, teaches truth, corrects us and equips God's people.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 • 2 Peter 1:20–21
OUR FOUNDATION
LGBTG exists to point people to Jesus Christ. These are the core Christian truths that shape the ministry.
LET'S GET BACK TO GOD
We do not believe Christianity is primarily about self-improvement, religious performance or earning God's acceptance. At the centre of the Christian faith is Jesus Christ—who He is, what He has done, and the salvation God gives by grace.
“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:11We believe the Holy Scriptures are inspired by God and are our authoritative foundation for Christian faith and life. Scripture points us to Christ, teaches truth, corrects us and equips God's people.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 • 2 Peter 1:20–21
We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit—one God in three Persons. He is Creator, holy, just, loving, merciful and worthy of all worship.
Matthew 28:19 • Deuteronomy 6:4
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, truly God and truly man. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, taught with divine authority, was crucified, died, was buried and rose bodily from the dead.
John 1:1–14 • Colossians 1:15–20 • 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
We believe every person is made in the image of God and therefore has dignity and value. Humanity has also fallen into sin. None of us can make ourselves right with God through our own goodness or religious works.
Genesis 1:27 • Romans 3:23
We believe Jesus willingly gave Himself on the cross for sinners. His death was not merely an example of love; Christ bore sin and accomplished the work necessary for our reconciliation with God.
Isaiah 53:5–6 • 1 Peter 2:24 • 2 Corinthians 5:21
We believe Jesus physically rose from the dead on the third day. His resurrection is central to the Gospel and is the foundation of Christian hope in resurrection and eternal life.
Luke 24:1–8 • 1 Corinthians 15:12–20
We believe salvation is God's gift. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by earning it. The Gospel calls us to repent—to turn toward God—and trust in Christ.
Ephesians 2:8–9 • Mark 1:15 • Romans 10:9–13
We believe those who trust in Christ receive new life. Christians are not instantly perfect, but God begins a continuing work of sanctification, changing us to become more like Christ.
John 3:3 • 2 Corinthians 5:17 • Philippians 1:6
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God. He glorifies Christ, convicts of sin, gives spiritual life, dwells in believers, produces His fruit and equips God's people to live faithfully.
John 16:7–14 • Galatians 5:22–25
We believe every follower of Christ belongs to His worldwide Church and should ordinarily be part of a faithful local church for worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, communion, baptism, service and discipleship.
Acts 2:42–47 • Hebrews 10:24–25
We believe Christians are called to love God and neighbour, pursue holiness, forgive, serve, care for those in need, resist sin and bear witness to Christ—not to earn salvation, but because we belong to Him.
Matthew 22:37–40 • John 14:15 • James 2:14–18
We believe Jesus Christ will return. God will judge with perfect justice, raise the dead and bring His saving purposes to completion. Our ultimate hope is eternal life with God through Christ.
Acts 1:11 • Revelation 21:1–5
THE HEART OF IT
LGBTG does not exist to build a personality around its founder. It exists to proclaim Jesus Christ, encourage people to open the Scriptures, and direct Christians toward the life of the local Church.
“He must become greater; I must become less.”
